Paceman RP Singh out of one-dayers
Injured India paceman Rudra Pratap Singh will miss next month's one-day tri-series in Australia and batsman Yuvraj Singh is also an injury concern, the cricket board said.
Left-armer Singh, the bowling spearhead during the 2-1 test series defeat in Australia, suffered a hamstring injury during the final test in Adelaide which ended in a draw on Monday.
He will need three weeks to recover and will be replaced by Munaf Patel, an accurate bowler who is returning after another spell out of the national side due to poor fitness.
Yuvraj will miss the start of the one-day series, also involving Sri Lanka, due to a knee injury suffered while training.
Talented Bengal batsman Manoj Tiwari will be flown in as stand-by, a board statement said.
Yuvraj will consult an orthopaedic surgeon in Melbourne on Wednesday, although he is hopeful of regaining fitness for the one dayer against Australia on February 10, it said.
India and Australia play a Twenty20 game on Friday and the one-day series starts two days later.
Yuvraj, dropped for the last two tests after he flopped in the first two which India lost, damaged the same left knee which he seriously injured in late 2006 and has since played with a knee brace.
