Fiery Kosmina to be Socceroos assistant
Controversial coach John Kosmina will be appointed as an assistant for the Socceroos on Friday.
The Daily Telegraph reported the former Adelaide United mentor would work side by side with head coach Graham Arnold for the Asian Cup.
Kosmina told the newspaper he had "learned his lesson from the past year".
The former Socceroo was sacked by United after serving two touch-line bans during the season and then bitterly complaining after his side's 6-0 drubbing in the A-League grand final.
"I've had a lot of time to reflect - I don't want to dwell on the past but in retrospect there were situations I didn't deal with in the best way," Kosmina said.
"I've learned that sometimes my behaviour was questionable and that can reflect on others."
Arnold played alongside Kosmina for Australia and has long been a supporter of the coach.
Meanwhile dumped Newcastle Premier League defender Craig Moore has confirmed he will not play in July's Asian Cup.
