Petrovski laments Kosmina comments
The drama of Sunday's top-of-the-table clash between Sydney FC and Adelaide may not be confined to the pitch for match-winner Sasho Petrovski.
Amid accusations about Sydney's "Hollywood" approach, Petrovski said celebrity Sydney shareholder Anthony LaPaglia had offered him a spot on his TV show Without a Trace.
"After the game they said that Anthony would like to talk to me and he offered me a role to play a part in one of his shows," Petrovski said. "Apparently because of all the acting going on the field, he thought that we did wonderful and he offered me a part to be a real actor."
Petrovski was responding to comments by Adelaide coach John Kosmina after the controversial match in which eight yellow cards were handed out.
"Sydney's the Hollywood of Australia isn't it, and I think at times they've lived up to that as well," an angry Kosmina said after the match.
"I saw a couple of actors out there that went over a couple of times."
LaPaglia was among the 18,276 in the crowd, on a flying visit from the US.
"He (Kosmina) thought we had a lot of actors in the side and if he wants to say things like that, maybe we're involved in the wrong business," Petrovski said.
Earlier the Sydney striker had headed home an 88th minute winner to hand the home side a 2-1 victory over the ladder leaders, and then was booked for his post-goal celebration.
"He (referee Mark Shield) booked me for putting my shirt over my face for not even a second," he said. "That's just ridiculous to get booked for that because later on that could come back to haunt me."
