Vermeulen to miss rest of Super Rugby
Stormers No.8 Duane Vermeulen will miss the rest of the Super Rugby season after being ruled out for up to nine weeks with knee ligament damage.
Stormers spokesman Gavin Lewis says Vermeulen will have surgery on Tuesday on his right knee after being hurt in Saturday's win over the Cheetahs.
The uncapped Vermeulen was selected in South Africa's preliminary World Cup squad on Monday but may also be out of contention for the early stages of the Tri-Nations tournament.
Stormers scrumhalf Ricky Januarie will be sidelined for up to six weeks with a hand injury, keeping him from the home Super semifinal on July 2 and possibly also the final if the South African team advances.
