Teague joins West Coast
West Coast have secured former North Melbourne and Carlton defender David Teague as the AFL club's backline coach.
Teague retired at the end of the 2006 season after 83 games and has been entrenched in the Carlton football department ever since, coaching the Blues' VFL affiliate Northern Bullants for the past three years.
The 29-year-old replaces Daniel Metropolis, who was sacked after West Coast's last-placed finish this season.
"I am really looking forward to working with the young West Coast defence and helping the club climb back up the ladder," Teague said.
"It is an exciting opportunity and it will be great to work with John Worsfold and the rest of the coaching staff.
"Observing West Coast from afar, the club has some promising young players and I am keen to play my part in helping them achieve their full potential."
The appointment of Teague follows on from that of former Fremantle ruckman Justin Longmuir as development coach a couple of weeks ago.
