Reds stay put at Suncorp
A plan to return the Reds to their spiritual home of Ballymore has been filed away after Queensland Rugby on Monday finalised a new agreement to play the Super 15 team's home games at Suncorp Stadium.
There had been talk that the Reds would play at the smaller inner suburban ground if they could not strike an improved hiring agreement at the world class facility.
Suncorp Stadium general manager Alan Graham said negotiations had been conducted in "good spirit" and it was always a key focus that stadium management and the QRU worked together to ensure the success of the Reds both on and off the field and that they remain at Suncorp.
"The Queensland Government redeveloped the stadium so it could host premium events and the inclusion of eight Reds games is an important addition to its schedule for 2011," Graham said.
The Reds 2011 campaign in the Super Rugby competition kicks off on February 20 against the Western Force."
