Latham uncertain for Brumbies match
Fullback Chris Latham remains in serious doubt for Queensland's Super 12 season closer against the ACT Brumbies this weekend.
Latham, heavily concussed during Queensland's 27-8 loss to NSW last weekend, did not train although the Reds remain hopeful he will play.
Further checks will be made on the Wallaby custodian when the Reds name their side for the final round game at Suncorp Stadium.
One certain change to the starting line up is the inclusion of powerful teenager Lloyd Johansson at inside centre in place of Junior Pelesasa (broken nose).
Johansson impressed with a late match burst that set up Queensland's sole try against the Waratahs and he faces a tantalising baptism from Brumbies duo Stirling Mortlock and Matt Giteau.
Despite the Reds being out of contention and the Brumbies having only a slight chance of making the final four, a near record Super 12 crowd could turn out for the game, which has been moved from Ballymore to Suncorp Stadium.
Adding spice to the domestic derby is the announcement that the Reds and the Brumbies will play for the inaugural Rod Macqueen Cup on Saturday night.
The annual trophy pays tribute to Australia's 1999 World Cup winning and former ACT coach's contribution to Australian rugby.
Queensland and NSW already play for the Templeton Cup, in honour of coaching legend Bob Templeton.
Macqueen said he was honoured to be recognised by the naming of a perpetual cup.
