Adelaide Crows rocked by injuries
Adelaide have been rocked by the dual loss of star Andrew McLeod and captain Simon Goodwin for Sunday's AFL Showdown against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.
The Crows, who need to extend their four-game winning streak to keep alive their chances of reaching the finals, will be without Goodwin because of an ankle injury and McLeod with a knee complaint.
Adelaide recalled Jason Porplyzia and Tony Armstrong to cover the injured veterans, and welcomed the return of key defender Nathan Bock, although this week's Rising Star nomination Phil Davis made way.
Port made six changes in a bid to end their 10-game losing streak, and dropped Jay Nash, Scott Harding, Jackson Trengove and Jason Davenport from the side beaten by the Western Bulldogs last weekend.
Forward Daniel Motlop (suspended) and midfielder Steven Salopek (shoulder) could not be considered.
The Power recalled Matt Thomas, Travis Boak, Alipate Carlile, Daniel Stewart, Robbie Gray and Andrew Moore, but there was no room for veteran Chad Cornes, who was named an emergency.
The Bulldogs regained full-forward Barry Hall from an ankle injury for Sunday's crucial game against Fremantle at Etihad Stadium, where the winner will take fourth spot on the ladder.
Jordan Roughead also returned, while Andrejs Everitt and Nathan Eagleton made way.
The Dockers were hit hard by injuries, as seasoned players Paul Hasleby (general soreness), Ryan Crowley (knee) and Kepler Bradley (knee), along with young defender Alex Silvagni (groin), were all ruled out.
Nick Suban, Clancee Pearce, Antoni Grover and debutant Jesse Crichton are the replacements.
Melbourne lost patience with forward Matthew Bate by dropping him from Sunday's clash with Sydney at the MCG and replacing him with Addam Maric.
The Swans replaced Nick Smith (hamstring) with Lewis Jetta.
