Bulldogs' U20s player cops six-week ban
Canterbury Toyota Cup rugby league player Martin Taupau has been dealt a six-match suspension by the judiciary for a dangerous throw.
The Auckland-born prop was the Bulldogs' under 20s player of the year last season and trained with the first grade squad over the off-season.
Taupau was charged with a grade three offence for the dangerous tackle he performed in the 40th minute of last week's game against the Gold Coast Titans.
He took the early guilty plea and as a result has copped the most severe penalty the judiciary has handed out in 2010 - even longer than the Manly and North Queensland players involved in a vicious brawl received in round 12.
