Friendlies don't mean much: Socceroos
The Socceroos have warned against reading too much into friendly matches after their Group D rivals had contrasting fortunes in pre-World Cup games on Sunday.
Serbia were stunned 1-0 by New Zealand in Austria.
But Australia's opening match opponents Germany continued to sparkle ahead of their June 13 clash with the Socceroos.
They cruised to a 3-0 win over Hungary in Budapest which could have brought plenty more goals for the Germans.
As the Socceroos ready themselves for a clash with Denmark in Roodepoort on Tuesday, midfielder Jason Culina believes friendly form will count for very little come the cauldron of the World Cup.
"That's why we don't take too much notice - we work on our own game, fine-tune a few things in our team," said Culina, who admitted he was catching up on some sleep during the matches which were played at night South African time.
"Come World Cup time, regardless of what results Germany had or Serbia had or Ghana had leading up to the World Cup, it won't matter.
"We just need to focus on our own game.
"There's no point worrying about what Germany's doing or what Serbia's doing. We know they're both very good teams and they'll be strong teams come World Cup time."
Socceroos star Harry Kewell, who is battling a groin injury, again did not train fully during Australia's training session on Sunday morning in Johannesburg.
He was restricted to running and light ball drills.
Midfielder Brett Emerton joined in with the team warm-up, but did not take part in the practice game which followed as he continues to be nursed through a minor calf problem.
Emerton spent much of the 90-minute session running on his own.
