Socceroos to tee up England friendly
Australia is set to play England in London in a friendly ahead of next year's World Cup in Germany.
Football Australia chief executive John O'Neill confirmed he is in negotiations with England about the match, which may be held at the new Wembley Stadium.
The likelihood of the match increased when Australia drew Croatia in group F for the World Cup.
The friendly planned between the Socceroos and Croatia in Zagreb will now have to be cancelled in accordance with FIFA regulations.
Australia will say farewell to home fans with a match against Greece at home on May 26, and will then assemble in Europe for a training camp in the Netherlands which will include three friendlies.
One will be against Australian coach Guus Hiddink's native Holland in Rotterdam on June 4.
O'Neill is in negotiations with England and South Korea - the team Hiddink took to the semi-finals of the last World Cup - for the two further matches.
After the round of friendlies, the team will assemble at a base near Stuttgart from June 7, with Australia's three group games all to be played in southern Germany - in Kaiserslautern, Munich and Stuttgart.
O'Neill will announce the details of Australian ticketing entitlements on December 19.
