McDonald misses national AFL draft
Joel McDonald has joined fellow former Brisbane player Daniel Bradshaw in not nominating for the AFL national draft.
Bradshaw is already training with Sydney and most likely headed to the Swans in the December pre-season draft.
But McDonald was a notable name missing from Wednesday's list of delisted players who have nominated for the November 26 national draft.
Melbourne have first pick in the pre-season draft.
As expected, former St Kilda captain Luke Ball nominated for the national draft, while Adam McPhee will put his name down for a pre-season pick after rejecting a contract offer from Essendon.
McPhee appears headed for Fremantle, his original AFL club.
Several experienced players nominated for the national draft by Wednesday's 2pm AEDT deadline, including Russell Robertson (ex-Melbourne), Daniel Harris (North Melbourne) and Matt Maguire (St Kilda), who is training with Carlton.
