Demons cut Miller, Bell
Melbourne forward Brad Miller could be on the radar of new AFL club Gold Coast after the Queenslander was officially cut by the Demons on Monday.
Miller, who played 133 matches for Melbourne but has spent most of the season in the reserves, was told by the Demons he would not be offered a contract for next season.
Defender Daniel Bell has also been shown the door as the cleanout continues at Melbourne - which also surprisingly pensioned off skipper James McDonald last week.
Gold Coast coach Guy McKenna has admitted speaking with Miller after the forward booted 10 goals for Casey Scorpions against the Suns in the VFL earlier this month.
Miller is giving no clues as to where his future lies, but having grown up in Brisbane, the 27-year-old could be an ideal fit for Gold Coast in 2011.
And he was far from bitter at the Demons' decision on Monday.
"I understand the direction the club is taking," Miller said.
"I'm now going to weigh up my options for the future but I haven't made any decisions yet."
Bell, 25, has played 66 matches since debuting in 2004 but his career has been heavily punctuated by injuries.
Bell said he was now looking to pursue his AFL career with another club and would nominate for this year's draft.
"I leave here with no regrets and understand the decision the club has made," he said.
"I will be nominating for the national draft and will hope to continue my football career at another AFL club."
