McDonald re-signs with Demons
Melbourne have re-signed co-captain James McDonald for another AFL season.
The 2006 All-Australian has won the club's last two best and fairest awards and has played 212 senior games since his 1997 debut.
"I am delighted to have re-signed with Melbourne and I'm looking forward to continuing my career here at the club," McDonald, 31, said in a statement.
"We're heading in the right direction and realise that I have a role to play as an individual in the team and as a player that can assist and help develop the young list that we have."
McDonald and Cameron Bruce took over as co-captains earlier this year after the sudden retirement of David Neitz.
The new deal will take McDonald through to the end of next season.
