Storm weigh up recall for prop Anderson
Melbourne are considering a possible NRL preliminary final recall for prop Scott Anderson after he passed a fitness test in the heat of battle.
Anderson performed strongly in the Storm's feeder side, Central Coast Storm, during their NSW Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Bellamy admitted Anderson, who had secured a regular spot in the Melbourne side leading into the NRL finals before injuring a hamstring, would be in contention to play against Brisbane at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.
Veteran Wairangi Koopu or young bench forward Ryan Tandy appear the two most likely to make way should Anderson be recalled.
Bellamy said having a selection dilemma rather than injury concerns was a good problem to have.
"He played really well yesterday and certainly played longer than we anticipated or we'd planned for him to play, he was feeling that good," Bellamy said.
"He's ready to go but whether he'll be back in there, that's another thing.
"He was out for two weeks and the guys did a great job in those two weeks so we'll think about it and see what we come up with."
While Melbourne had a match-free weekend after winning through to the preliminary final, the Storm had a private match simulation on Saturday.
Bellamy, who gave his side a rest on Monday, said he was pleased with Saturday's workout.
"The guys put in some good sessions and we had a bit of a game-type simulation and that went really well for us," Bellamy said.
"We start again training tomorrow so we're in good shape at the moment."
