Delaney, Meyers return for Titans
Gold Coast Titans have received a huge boost ahead of their first NRL finals appearance against Brisbane on Saturday with the return of injured pair Brett Delaney and Brad Meyers.
Centre Delaney, who has been sidelined for five weeks with a hamstring problem, is named in the Titans starting line-up.
Meyers, who sat out last week's 38-4 defeat to Manly with a hand injury, will start on an extended interchange bench against his former club.
Coach John Cartwright also named Mat Rogers in his side although the former dual international is nursing a hamstring injury.
Newcastle have selected injured pair Zeb Taia and Isaac De Gois for Saturday's clash with the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium for the Knights' first finals game since 2006.
Taia missed the 34-0 win over Penrith on Sunday after partially dislocating his shoulder against Canberra in round 25 but has been named in Rick Stone's starting line-up.
Hooker De Gois sustained a knee injury against the Panthers and is rated as having a 50-50 chance of maintaining his ever-present appearance record since he joined the Knights from Cronulla at the start of the year.
Bulldogs coach Kevin Moore has kept faith with the side that slumped to a 34-12 defeat to the Wests Tigers last week with Daniel Holdsworth again getting the chance to fill in for injured halfback Brett Kimmorley.
Parramatta, whose run of seven successive victories was halted in ruthless fashion by St George Illawarra, welcome back Nathan Hindmarsh and Eric Grothe for their return clash with the Dragons at Kogarah on Sunday.
Eels coach Daniel Anderson also named in-form centre Krisnan Inu in his side. Inu was rated as doubtful for the game after limping off with a hamstring injury at halftime last Friday.
Dragons skipper Luke Hornby, who missed Monday's captain's call after a stomach bug, will make his 200th appearance for the club.
Reigning premiers Manly have named the same team that hammered the Gold Coast for the trip to Melbourne on Friday night.
However, there may well be a return to action for Jamie Lyon, who has not appeared since injuring his shoulder against the Storm in round 24.
"I think he just had a bit of a scratched shoulder and he needed a couple of weeks off," Sea Eagles' second-rower Anthony Watmough said.
"He's a bit of a pussycat but Dessy looks after him and gave him his few days rest. If he's not there, little Kieran Foran, he's amazing for us, he'll do a job if Killer's not back."
Adam Blair has been named in the Melbourne side but could miss the game if his grade-one dangerous contact charge is upheld at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday.
Storm coach Craig Bellamy is confident the prop will be cleared to take his place in the repeat of last year's grand final.
"At the moment we think we've got a really good case," Bellamy said on Tuesday.
"We expect him to be there Friday night."
