Taylor-made for a Prince
It is arguably the most frightening sight for a back on a rugby league field - Dave Taylor, all 115kg and 185cm of him, in full flight.
In fact it seems it is so scary that Gold Coast Titans co-captain Scott Prince can't look.
Thrown out wide in attack with immediate and spectacular success by the Broncos, Taylor is expected to test Titans chief weapon Prince in their NRL qualifying final at Skilled Park on Saturday night.
Asked how he would avoid being reduced to a "speed hump", Prince said: "Close your eyes and hope for the best.
"It doesn't matter where you defend, if someone is running at you ... you've got to put your body on the line."
Hopefully Prince did not watch that theory being put to the test by Canberra's Josh Dugan in the previous round.
Sure the teenager was able to stop the Broncos monster as he flew down the sideline, but the Canberra player was left with the expression of a man who had had his major organs rearranged without permission - or anaesthetic.
That's where Prince's "bodyguards" - Ash Harrison and Anthony Laffranchi - come in.
"They have been there for the majority of the year, defending inside me," Prince said.
"If we are on our game I don't think it (Taylor) will be an issue.
"They take a few hits for me, hopefully they will do it again tomorrow night."
Titans coach John Cartwright backed Prince to not only stand up to the Broncos monolith, but cover himself in glory.
"If his soldiers give him enough room to move he will be the bloke collecting the award at the end of the game," he said.
"He needs his big fellas to do that for him, and if he gets an even share of that I have no doubt that we will walk off with a win."
Prince had a less subtle way of stopping Taylor, though.
"If we can move a wall to the edge of the ruck, that would be good," he laughed.
"He's in a purple patch at the moment, it was a smart move by the Broncos to move him out there in attack and run at the smaller guys - I will certainly have my hands full."
Asked if his young team was ready for the finals challenge, Prince said: "It doesn't matter what time of year it is, they want to go out and enjoy themselves.
"I'm sure after one or two hits tomorrow night they will realise they are in for a big game."
Especially if Taylor is dishing out the hits.
