Three tries to Israel Folau have helped Brisbane hold out the Gold Coast Titans 40-32 in their NRL qualifying final at Skilled Park.

The Titans trailed 30-10 early in the second half before scoring four of the next five tries to cut the deficit to just two points with eight minutes remaining.

But an intercept try to Dave Taylor in the 76th minute sealed the thriller, giving the Broncos their sixth straight win.

The Titans must sweat on other results before knowing they move into the second week of the playoffs.

Brisbane halfback Peter Wallace was placed on report for a high shot on David Mead, while Titans pivot Mat Rogers was helped off the field late in the game after landing heavily on his head.
