Carlton's Jacobs wants trade to Crows
Much-improved Carlton ruckman Sam Jacobs has told the Blues he wants to be traded to Adelaide.
The 22-year-old Jacobs played 13 senior games this season for a career total of 17 after joining the Blues in the 2007 AFL rookie draft from Woodville-West Torrens.
"While disappointed with Sam's decision to return back to South Australia, the club will now commence discussions with the Adelaide Crows to enable a suitable exchange," said Carlton's general manager of football operations Steven Icke.
The Blues are well off for ruckmen, with former No.1 draft pick Matthew Kreuzer, Shaun Hampson and Robert Warnock also on their list.
The Crows have only two front-line ruckmen - Ivan Maric and Jonathon Griffin.
The trade period begins on October 5.
In other news, Port Adelaide delisted five players on Monday including former Brisbane utility Scott Harding and rookie-listed Cameron Cloke, who had previously played with Collingwood and Carlton.
