Sharks sign Panthers hooker Aiton
Cronulla have announced the signing of Penrith hooker Paul Aiton for the 2010 NRL season.
Aiton, who represented Papua New Guinea in the 2008 rugby league World Cup, has signed a two-year contract with the Sharks.
"I definitely liked what I saw at the World Cup from Paul and he has continued his good form and has had a strong season with his club this year," Sharks coach Ricky Stuart said.
"While he is still a young man Paul has got some experience behind him at both NRL and international level and will certainly complement the talented youngsters we have coming through at the club."
The 24-year-old has played over 60 NRL games and has been an ever-present for the Panthers this season.
Aiton has been a regular member of the Kumuls squad since 2004 and was named PNG's 2008 player of the year.
Aiton is Stuart's fifth recent signing alongside John Morris from Wests Tigers, Manly's Adam Cuthbertson and young Parramatta pair halfback Albert Kelly and forward Broderick Wright.
