Rees wants AFL grand final in Sydney
NSW Premier Nathan Rees says he would love to have the AFL grand final in Sydney if it's possible.
He was responding to a call by Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell for the NSW government to do all it can to snatch the AFL grand final from Melbourne.
This followed reports that the AFL has threatened to take the grand final away from the Melbourne Cricket Ground unless it makes a better offer on a new 10-year contract.
"I'd love to see the AFL grand final in Sydney and if it is indeed a live option then I'm very keen to look at it," Mr Rees told reporters in Sydney on Wednesday.
