NSW retain NRL grand final
The NSW government will spend $45 million to keep the NRL grand final match at Sydney's ANZ Stadium for the next 10 years.
The funding, announced in the 2010/11 state budget on Tuesday, means 84,500 league fans will be able to watch the game and wider community can enjoy a week long grand final festival.
"NSW is the spiritual home of rugby league - we have the history and it is the home of rugby league - and now we will retain this great game for another decade," Premier Kristina Keneally said of the agreement with the NRL.
Last year, the grand final attracted about 16,500 interstate visitors and 8500 from regional NSW.
It injected $10 million in the state's economy.
