Sheehan cleared to play against Lions
NSW Waratahs scrumhalf Brett Sheehan is free to play in the final game of the regular Super 14 season in South Africa on Friday after being cleared at a SANZAR judicial hearing.
Sheehan was cited for an alleged shoulder charge on Sharks centre Brad Barritt in the Waratahs' 16-12 victory in Durban at the weekend.
But, after an hour-long hearing at the KwaZulu-Natal Rugby Union offices at ABSA Stadium on Monday, SANZAR judicial officer Dekka Govender dismissed the charge.
Sheehan will make his 50th Super Rugby appearance on Friday (Saturday AEST) against the 11th-placed Lions in Johannesburg where NSW need a bonus-point win to have any chance of making the semi-finals.
The squad will leave Durban for Johannesburg on Wednesday.
