Dockers' Crowley faces injury layoff
Fremantle utility Ryan Crowley will miss a big chunk of the AFL season after damaging his foot in Saturday's derby win over West Coast.
Crowley was forced from the field before halftime at Subiaco after he hurt the foot in a marking contest.
The Dockers will know more about the extent and nature of the injury at the end of the week, but are pessimistic about the final diagnosis.
"It appears at this stage that Crowley will miss an extended period of the season," the Dockers said in a statement.
"A final diagnosis will not be made until the end of the week, when swelling in his injured foot is expected to have subsided."
It is a big setback for the Dockers in the wake of their memorable 13-point win over the Eagles.
Crowley has built a reputation at the Dockers as a hard-working, aggressive tagger in his 78-game AFL career and had started the game on Eagles star Daniel Kerr.
