Eagles discovered our secrets: Harvey
Fremantle coach Mark Harvey claims sensitive information about the Dockers' personnel structure was leaked prior to their round eight western derby loss to arch AFL rivals West Coast.
Harvey believes West Coast's 33-point win over the Dockers back in May was possibly aided by some pivotal knowledge about Fremantle's set-up.
"We've got phone hacking going on these days," Harvey joked in the wake of the News of the World phone hacking scandal, before turning serious in his allegations.
"A lot of things happened throughout the course of the week and then in the lead-up to that game, wasn't there, if you remember.
"I think some of our intelligence got out.
"Just in some of the structure, personnel structure I'm talking about.
"A lot of sports overseas, they have lock-out training sessions all year around.
"I spoke to (English Premier League club) Liverpool officials in the last couple of days and they've got their own training venue where no one's let in.
"But what verbally you say, you can't shut that up sometimes.
"So you can train for it and hide it, but not necessarily verbal conversations."
When asked whether the information leak came from within the Dockers' camp, Harvey replied: "I'm not speculating, I'm just telling you how we saw it."
In the lead-up to that derby, speculation was rife Fremantle goalsneak Hayden Ballantyne would miss the clash due to a hamstring injury.
Ballantyne was named in the side but was withdrawn prior to the bounce due to the injury.
Meanwhile, West Coast coach John Worsfold said star onballer Daniel Kerr remained just a 50-50 chance at best to take on the Dockers in this Sunday's derby.
Kerr missed last week's loss to St Kilda through soreness and Worsfold said the 28-year-old was still struggling to overcome a series of complaints.
"Just tight hamstring, hip, glute. It's all in that area where he's had his surgery," Worsfold said.
