Coach Moore pleased with Ennis ruling
Bulldogs coach Kevin Moore says he was always confident hooker Michael Ennis would be cleared by the NRL judiciary to face Wests Tigers on Sunday.
Ennis was found not guilty on Wednesday of performing a chicken-wing tackle on Canberra's Josh Duggan last Sunday and Moore said he felt the former Brisbane rake had no real case to answer.
"When you look at the tackle on the video and the rule ... it's up to the league to prove he put him in a dangerous position ... on the video it clearly shows that the arm never went past his back so he never put him in a dangerous position," Moore said.
"He was also trying to move the arm away from a hand burning his throat so we were really confident and that is why we challenged it.
"I was surprised we had to go (to the judiciary) to be honest ... but I understand you have to look at those kind of things."
Moore also denied the talk of an Origin shoot-out between Ennis and Tigers rake Robbie Farah for the NSW hooker spot would be a distraction for either side.
"I think both Michael and Robbie are very professional and probably sick to death of talking about it," he said.
"There are probably three or four games before Origin and they just want to put their heads down and focus on their footy ... I know Mick wants to.
"He has been tremendous for us all season and I have no doubt he will come up with another strong performance for us against the Tigers."
