Hawthorn cracks 50,000 membership mark
Premiers Hawthorn have become the first Victorian AFL club to break the 50,000 members mark.
The Hawks have bettered their 41,686 membership mark from 2008.
Hawthorn president Jeff Kennett said the achievement was remarkable.
"The board wishes to thank each and everyone of those 50,000 members, which is not only a record membership for Hawthorn Football Club, but a record for any Victorian-based team," Kennett said.
Adelaide holds the all-time AFL membership record with 50,976, set in 2007.
