Samoa rugby league international David Faiumu has been committed to stand trial for grievous bodily harm.

Faiumu, 25, is accused of assaulting retired swimmer Ashley Anderson in Rockhampton, central Queensland last November.

The former North Queensland Cowboys hooker attended a committal hearing in Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday.

Faiumu, who is a member of Samoa's Rugby League World Cup squad, will face trial in Rockhampton's District Court on a date to be fixed.

Faiumu left the Cowboys earlier this year after signing with English Super League club Huddersfield.
