AFL tackles set to come under review
Fierce tackles which resulted in St Kilda's Robert Harvey and Richmond's Shane Edwards having to be helped from the field in weekend matches could be scrutinised by the AFL's match review panel on Monday.
Edwards was dumped by Geelong defender Darren Milburn midway through the third quarter of Saturday night's match at Telstra Dome.
Saints veteran Harvey was slammed to the turf in similar fashion by Power youngster Jacob Surjan during the third term of his side's comeback win at the same venue on Sunday.
Both Edwards and Harvey were badly dazed and had to be assisted to the bench, but both returned to the field later in their matches.
The incident involving Harvey seemed to help inspire the Saints to rally and overcome Port to notch their crucial victory.
In both cases, the players had their arms pinned in fair tackles, but were then thrown to the ground after the ball had spilled free.
