Gasnier sidelined for four weeks
St George Illawarra skipper Mark Gasnier has been ruled out for four weeks with a torn calf muscle, putting him out of contention for the Centenary Test on May 9.
Gasnier suffered the injury during the Dragons' 20-16 NRL loss to North Queensland on Saturday night but was still able to complete the game.
The Test star won't return until round 10, two weeks after Australia face New Zealand at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Gasnier's injury is also a huge blow to the Dragons who have just one win from their opening five games.
St George Illawarra face a tough month ahead with games against the Bulldogs, Sydney Roosters and Parramatta before their round 10 clash with Melbourne.
