Adelaide outraged at NSL draw
Adelaide City president Bob D'Ottavi has blasted Soccer Australia for changing its opening round NSL finals games and says the club will seek a court injunction to prevent Friday night's match against the Olympic Sharks from going ahead.
SA made an 11th hour decision on Sunday night to change next week's line-up of matches because the Sharks had problems confirming the availability of their home ground, Toyota Park.
Fifth-placed Adelaide was scheduled to play the team that finished second at Hindmarsh Stadium on Friday.
With Marconi upsetting the Glory on Sunday, Adelaide was meant to play Perth but SA decided to reschedule matches to fit in with the Sharks instead.
And that's left at least two angry NSL clubs.
A seething D'Ottavi said he was devastated and shocked by SA's decision to reschedule without consultation.
"This sort of thing can only happen in our league. It's not professional and it's just not on," said D'Ottavi who only found out about the decision late on Sunda night.
"You can't set up fixtures six weeks ago and change it now.
"Why is it our problem that Olympic can't find a ground?"
D'Ottavi was particularly incensed that SA had held private discussions with Perth and Olympic about changing matches without informing other teams that may be affected.
