Spain looking to buck Hopman Cup trend
Day three of the Hopman Cup will see Croatian brother and sister pair Mario and Sanja Ancic take on a talented Spanish outfit featuring world number seven Tommy Robredo.
In the only match of the first day of 2007, Robredo and Ancic - both members of the world's elite top ten - will face off in a powerhouse singles rubber.
Before that, the Croatian will have watched his little sister attempt to make up over 150 ranking places when she takes on Anabel Medina Garrigues.
Spain, the second seeds for the 19th staging of the mixed team tournament, will also be hoping to reverse a remarkable giant killing trend on the first two days of the tournament.
After number one seed Russia was beaten by Australia on the first morning, number four seed and defending champion United States then lost to France.
Debutant India continued the upsets by overcoming the third seeded Czech Republic in a match tie breaker on Saturday.
