Puletua ready to rumble
Rampaging Penrith second rower Tony Puletua is ready to terrorise the Sydney Roosters in Sunday night's National Rugby League grand final after ending any lingering doubts over his fitness.
Puletua has been struggling with a knee injury which forced him out of the club's qualifying final win over Brisbane three weeks ago.
He played against the New Zealand Warriors in the preliminary final last weekend but was overshadowed by fellow Kiwi back rower Joe Galuvao.
However, Puletua trained strongly for the first time this week and is expected to be back to his best on Sunday night at Telstra Stadium.
"He ran full-on for the whole time," a Penrith official said.
"He's a sight to behold."
Roosters coach Ricky Stuart has already isolated Puletua and Galuvao as two of the dangermen confronting his side.
The pair tip the scales at a combined 212kg and have left a trail of wreckage behind them this season.
Between them they have made 23 line breaks this season.
That's more than the rest of the Panthers pack combined and more than five times the number made by their Roosters counterparts Adrian Morley and Craig Fitzgibbon, who have made four between them.
