Bulldogs second rower Steve Reardon has declared himself a certain starter in Sunday's National Rugby League semi-final against Melbourne at Aussie Stadium.

Reardon phoned coach Steve Folkes on Friday after his ribs were given a heavy workout at training on Thursday.

With Reardon finally in the clear, Jamie Feeney and Roy Asotasi have dropped off the bench.

Sunday's winner will meet reigning premiers the Sydney Roosters next weekend at Aussie Stadium for a place in the October long weekend grand final.

Saturday night, the New Zealand Warriors take on Canberra, with the winner to meet Penrith.
