Two key Saints re-sign with AFL club
St Kilda received a major boost on Tuesday night as the AFL club announced it had re-signed acting captain Justin Koschitzke and defender Max Hudghton.
The two key position players committed to the Saints until the end of 2007.
It is understood coach Grant Thomas had met with Koschitzke's management on Tuesday.
Koschitzke's new deal is particularly important to St Kilda.
The injury-prone ruck-forward has been in blistering form over the last month and was prominent again last Friday night as his side took apart Collingwood.
Hudghton, a no-frills backman, hurt his hip in the same match.
He continues to receive plaudits for his consistency and is an under-rated player in St Kilda's talented list.
"Justin and Max typify all the values that St Kilda prides itself on," chief executive Jim Watts said in a statement.
"They are brave, committed and honest individuals, who week in, week out, selflessly give their all for the team."
