St Kilda's Hudghton announces retirement
Veteran St Kilda defender Max Hudghton has announced his AFL retirement at the club's post-grand final family day function.
The fan favourite could not force his way into the team for Saturday's match against Geelong, where the Saints suffered a heartbreaking 12-point loss.
He confirmed his retirement on stage at Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon in front of several thousand supporters.
Hudghton, 33, only managed seven senior games this season for a career total of 234.
