Bulldogs hopeful of keeping Price
The Bulldogs are "quietly confident" they've done enough to convince captain Steve Price to reject a lucrative offer from the New Zealand Warriors and play rugby league in Sydney next season.
But Canberra looks to have lost its battle to keep Ruben Wiki, with the Kiwi enforcer poised to take up an equally tempting deal with the Warriors.
New Zealand press reported Wiki would officially sign with the Warriors, ending his 12-year career in the nation's capital.
Wiki's manager Jim Banaghan was holding talks with the hard-hitting prop and his Canberra teammate Joel Monaghan.
Monaghan has been linked with the Sydney Roosters.
Price and his manager George Mimis met with `Dogs coach Steve Folkes and chief executive Malcolm Noad for more than four hours to discuss his plans.
The Queensland prop left that meeting to weigh up his future with his wife Jo.
Ultimately Price must decide between the money on offer in New Zealand and the loyalty factor tying him to the Bulldogs.
"I have everything on the table," Price said.
"I haven't seen my wife in two weeks. We're going to be going through things."
