Stacey Jones 'should become an Immortal'
Warriors captain Steve Price has called for comeback hero Stacey Jones to become the first New Zealander inducted as a rugby league Immortal.
Price was full of praise for Jones after the crafty halfback set up two late tries to lift the Warriors to a 26-24 victory over reigning premiers Manly at Brookvale Oval on Sunday.
"I think Stacey should be considered as an Immortal," Price told this week's edition of Rugby League Week, the creators of the Immortals concept.
"He's played in the NRL for most of his career and that's an Australian competition."
The game's only seven Immortals are Australian greats Bob Fulton, Graeme Langlands, Reg Gasnier, Clive Churchill, John Raper, Wally Lewis and Arthur Beetson.
