ICC gives to Bangladesh cyclone relief
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday donated $US250,000 ($A292,000) to the Bangladesh relief fund to help alleviate the suffering caused by a cyclone that hit the country last month.
ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed presented a cheque to Bangladesh team manager Ahmed Sajjadul Alam and captain Mohammad Ashraful before the start of the Twenty20 charity match against a New Zealand selection in Hamilton.
All proceeds from Sunday's match are going to help the victims of the cyclone.
Cyclone Sidr formed in the Bay of Bengal on November 11 before tearing across Bangladesh and leaving behind a trail of devastation.
More than 3500 people were killed and many thousands more were left homeless by the cyclone.
