Laidley laments Kangaroos big loss
Kangaroos coach Dean Laidley conceded last week's Subiaco slog influenced his side's 76-point loss to Collingwood at Telstra Dome.
Laidley said the Roos lacked spark and zip after the six-day break from the heavy conditions against West Coast at Subiaco.
"After last week's game you try and do your best to get them up physically but after the first 15 minutes I thought 'This is probably the worst side you could play after the (mid-season) break'," he said.
"After that period of time they sort of mauled us around the stoppages and in the contested situations.
"I thought in the end we got belted up."
No team has been able to win the week after travelling to Subiaco this season and Laidley said the longer ground was a factor.
"You wonder what you have to do over there," he said.
"You look at Brisbane (losing to Fremantle) ..., they got so close and they have to travel all the way back and it'll be interesting to see how they come up next week.
"What do you do?
"Don't take half your team and instead of losing eight points only lose four by making sure you win the following week when you come back? I don't know."
