Mooney could pay twice for indiscretion
Cameron Mooney's undisciplined indiscretion against St Kilda could return to haunt him at the AFL tribunal on Tuesday night.
The Geelong back-up ruckman was reported on Monday on video evidence for engaging in rough play against St Kilda's Leigh Montagna in the second quarter of Sunday's game at Skilled Stadium.
Mooney was cited for dropping an elbow on Montagna as the Saint lay on the turf over the boundary line near his side's goal and resulted in a 50-metre penalty and an easy goal for St Kilda.
Montagna's goal was the first of five in 12 minutes for the Saints and that burst helped get them back into the game, before Geelong steadied to win by seven points.
Geelong coach Mark Thompson also showed his displeasure of Mooney's lack of discipline afterwards, labelling his player's actions "stupid".
Mooney will join Port Adelaide pair Josh Carr and Brett Montgomery at the tribunal.
Carr was reported for striking Essendon's Andrew Welsh on Saturday night at Telstra Dome while Montgomery was booked for engaging in rough play against Bomber Nathan Lovett-Murray.
