State behind Lockyer's decision: Bligh
Queenslanders are behind Darren Lockyer's decision not to play in Friday's preliminary final clash with Manly, Premier Anna Bligh says.
The Broncos skipper has ruled himself out of the Manly clash, ending four days of speculation since he suffered a fractured cheekbone in the semi-final win over St George Illawarra.
He's adamant he'll play in the NRL grand final if Brisbane can win Friday's game without him.
Ms Bligh Queenslanders would respect the decision.
"Darren has made his own decision. I think Queenslanders will back him, I think they will back him whatever decision he made," she told ABC Radio from Georgetown on Wednesday.
"He had a fairytale ending to his Suncorp Stadium playing days the other night."
