Stewart case adjourned by NRL
Manly backrower Glenn Stewart had his NRL judiciary hearing adjourned for 24 hours on Wednesday night after the club's legal representative withdrew his counsel.
Stewart's lawyer Christopher Branson notified the Sea Eagles on Wednesday afternoon that he would not be representing the Australian and New South Wales backrower due to a technicality in the code under which Stewart was charged.
Judiciary chairman Paul Conlon agreed to the request for an adjournment, with Stewart to be represented by Alan Sullivan QC on Thursday night.
There has been no indication yet as to whether the Sea Eagles will still plead not guilty to a contrary conduct charge.
