Warriors NRL half Seymour signs with Hull
English Super League club Hull have completed the signing of Warriors NRL halfback Brett Seymour, who becomes their third overseas recruit for 2012.
The 26-year-old was a target for Bradford and Harlequins but today agreed to join the Black and Whites on a three-year contract.
Seymour will link up at the KC Stadium next season with his current Warriors teammate Aaron Heremaia and Wests Tigers fullback Wade McKinnon, as well as Leigh's former St Helens halfback Jamie Ellis.
"Brett is a very talented player with a sharp football brain," said Hull coach Richard Agar.
"He possesses a wide array of skills and a great kicking game.
"He will bring confidence and quality into our halves and is a player coming into his prime. He is an integral part of our plans for 2012. He is a major capture for us."
The signing of Seymour casts further doubt over the future of former Great Britain star Sean Long, who turns 35 in September and is out of contract at the end of the season.
A former Australian schoolboy international, Seymour had made more than 100 appearances in the NRL for Brisbane Broncos, Cronulla and the Warriors.
"I didn't want to come to England when I was past my use-by date," he said.
"I have had 10 years in the NRL and I'm pretty well seasoned.
"The body feels great still and I really want to make a go of my chance in Super League so that was the reason behind joining an ambitious club like Hull.
"I have had some great feedback about the club, the players and the coaches and where they want to be heading and people can't speak more highly of the place so I can't wait to get there."
