Warriors beat Roosters 26-8 in NRL trial
The New Zealand Warriors produced a strong second half display to start their 2010 National Rugby League trials program with a 26-8 win over the Sydney Roosters at Rotorua International Stadium on Saturday.
One of the many encouraging features was Brett Seymour's first outing for the Warriors.
After stints with Brisbane and Cronulla, Seymour was handed the captaincy on debut and looked accomplished in the 55 minutes he had on the field and he converted three tries.
Halfback Aaron Heremaia scored two tries for the home side, the others supplied by Kevin Locke, Patrick Ah Van and Ukuma Ta'ai.
The Roosters, who trailed 10-8 at halftime, scored through Brad Takairangi and Sonny Tuigamala.
