Bye week at right time for Brumbies
Exciting Brumbies centre Robbie Coleman believes the Super Rugby side will benefit from having the week off after a disastrous start to the season.
The Brumbies are counting the cost of their disheartening 52-10 loss to the Crusaders in Nelson last week with star Wallabies hooker Stephen Moore nursing a badly sprained ankle.
Moore will have scans this week and remains in doubt for the match against NSW on Saturday week.
With one win from the opening four games, the Brumbies have equalled their worst ever start to a Super Rugby season.
Coupled with the poor on-field performances are the off-field dramas with player power believed to be behind the sacking of coach Andy Friend who was dumped following the round two loss to newcomers the Melbourne Rebels.
Former North Sydney Bears rugby league player Tony Rea is the new coach.
"Everyone is going to appreciate that little bit of time off and get the body right," Coleman said.
The Brumbies went into the halftime break against the Crusaders down 19-10 before they were ripped apart by the Super Rugby powerhouse.
"At halftime, I thought we were definitely in the game and then they put it on us at once," Coleman said.
The diminutive Coleman, who weighs just 83kg, says he's loved the challenge of coming up against much bigger centres, including the Crusaders' monster Sonny-Bill Williams.
"I have really enjoyed playing against the like of (Ma'a) Nonu, (Tana) Umaga and Sonny Bill," he said.
The 20-year-old known as `Prince' (of Queanbeyan) said playing between Wallabies Matt Giteau and Adam Ashley-Cooper has helped his transition into Super Rugby.
"The stuff I have learnt from them is great and continue to learn and they make my job a lot easier," he said.
Coleman has re-signed with the Brumbies until 2013 along with No.8 Ita Vaea and Academy prop Jono Owen.
