Aussies lose Sevens quarter-final in Vegas
Australia has been knocked out of the rugby Sevens World Series, going down 19-14 in their quarter-final match with South Africa in Las Vegas.
England and New Zealand remain on course to meet in a third straight final as they booked semi-final berths on the opening day of the US leg of World Series on Saturday.
The two teams arrived in Las Vegas, the fourth of eight stops in the global competition, level atop the standings on 64 points.
England advanced to the final four with a 28-14 victory over Kenya and next faces South Africa, who reached their first semi-final of the season with their win.
Kenya started well with Humphrey Kayange scoring to put them up 7-0 in their first quarter-final since Hong Kong 2010, but two tries each from James Rodwell and Mat Turner helped England secure their place in a fourth straight semi.
New Zealand hammered Argentina, running in seven tries to record a 47-7 win and will face Fiji.
The Fijians defeated the reigning World Series champions and last year's US winner Samoa 17-12 in their quarter-final clash.
