Demons record another profit
AFL club Melbourne's resurgence has continued with a second successive year of profit.
Demons president Jim Stynes said record membership and better match-day returns following the renegotiation of their MCG stadium deal, helped the club post a normalised operating profit of more than $724,000 to October this year.
The club is now also debt-free following a successful "debt demolition" campaign.
"This result includes further strategic investment in key areas of the business as we move from a period of consolidation to one of growth," Stynes said in a statement.
"One of the most significant achievements for the year was the demolition of our debt and we sincerely thank all of our members and supporters who have contributed over the last three campaigns to make our club debt-free."
