Eagles still flying high off the field
A poor year on-field has not stopped AFL club West Coast posting another giant profit.
The Eagles announced an operating profit of $4,698,391, with the club keeping $3m after making a $1.7m royalty payment to the West Australian Football Commission.
West Coast chairman Mark Barnaba said the club was delighted with the result, given the difficult economic climate.
He said it was a tribute to the loyalty of the club's supporters, with the Eagles coming 15th this season, their first time out of the finals in seven years.
