Hansen delisted by West Coast
West Coast premiership-winning forward Ashley Hansen was delisted by the AFL club on Friday.
The 27-year-old, who helped the Eagles beat Sydney in the 2006 grand final, played 78 games for the club but only 24 in the last three seasons and two in 2010.
Following some strong form in the WAFL, where he helped Swan Districts win this year's premiership, Hansen was shocked by the news and is now weighing up his future.
"I am very disappointed with the decision," he said.
"I thought my body was good enough to play a role for the side, but the club sees it differently."
A succession of injuries in recent years, including hip, hamstring and groin problems, led the Eagles to the decision.
"Ash has been a wonderful contributor to our football club in his nine years here," coach John Worsfold said.
"Unfortunately, his body will not allow him to play the role we require of him."
